About the Congressional Pharmacy Tour Program:

The CCPA Congressional Pharmacy Tour Program partners Members of Congress with local community pharmacies in the district to educate elected officials on the integral role of the pharmacist in the front lines of our health care system.  During the tour Members of Congress will be able to see how the prescription drug benefits of the Medicare and Medicaid programs are working and how community pharmacies serve your constituents on a daily basis.  CCPA will work with Congressional offices to coordinate a visit to a community pharmacy in district. 

During the visit you will:

1. Meet with one of the most trusted, accessible healthcare providers – your community pharmacist.
2. Learn how pharmacy can partner with lawmakers to reduce health care costs by utilizing generic prescription medications.
3. Gain a better understanding of the role of the community pharmacist in optimizing the results of medication therapy and the patient care services they provide to citizens of the community.
4. Meet with patients and beneficiaries.
5. View the latest in pharmacy technology.
6. Learn how the pharmacist can help Medicare beneficiaries navigate through the Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Benefit.
